 Prizes

All award categories receive a plaque. The Best in Show receives a trophy. All winners will be submitted by press release to the media and posted on the NWHPBA and OHPBA websites. Winners will be announced at the Awards Dinner at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, WA at the Region 9 Spring Conference on Tuesday, June 10, 2008.

 Judges and Criteria

We will form a panel of judges including a combination of interior design experts and hearth industry veterans. Judging will take place in early June so we have time to order awards and prepare a slide show. Entries will be judged on originality, integration of the hearth appliance style into the overall interior design, and enhancement of the living space. All aspects of the hearth will be judged, including the appliance, mantel, and accessories. The panel reserves the right not to select a winner from the entries submitted.

Entry Requirements

The contest is open to all retailers or installing distributors in the Northwest who are members of OHPBA or NWHPBA. Separate winners will be awarded for each affiliate. Entry requirements include:

  • Separate completed Hearth Design Contest Form for each category
  • 8 x 10 color print or high resolution digital photograph (min 300 pixels per inch)
  • Short description of the installation, model and brand of appliance, challenges overcome, etc.
  • Deadline for submission of entries: May 1, 2008

Send Entries to: Harvey Gail, Northwest Hearth Design Contest, OHPBA, PO Box 135, Salem, OR 97308-0135 or email to harv@vannattapr.com.
